Here is the Nice tourism site. Check out the "what to see" section for specific reccommendations. You have the beach (of course), the famous Promenade des Anglais, Vieux Nice is supposed to be beatiful and if you are into museums you can see works by Marc Chagall and Matisse (among others).

You can also use Nice as base camp. Both Monaco and Cannes are just a short train ride away and make a good day trip - pack a picnic lunch and have fun exploring the area.

Nice is beautiful. Depending on what time of year you go you may have trouble getting a room because it's very, VERY popular in the summer. It was April when I went and it was absolutely wonderful. I have some pictures here if you want to check them out.

Nice pictures on the site.. I am a sucker for the ocean though or any pictures with a nice Harbor in it.

Vary nice SV! I especially like the pic with the stuffed animals!

Both Nice and Monaco are on my travel plan. Hopefully I'll have a bunch of pictures like that to add to my collection at the end of the summer.

haha, thanks! Poor Eva. She's much prettier than that horrid red coat and bad lighting would suggest.

I really enjoyed Nice - the sun, the beach, happening nightlife and colourful buildings in the old town.

The daytrip to Monaco is really cool too - there is hot cars everywhere and I have never seen so much wealth in one place!

Actually urOZm8, that was my next question...

What clubs did you go to? Which pubs would you reccommend?

im in nice right now, and its not that great, the rocky beaches pissed me off. and the night life here is not thirveing, however monoco and cannes makes it worth the trip. you should diffently add it to your places to stay a quick night or two in.

I didn't find the beaches to be a problem or annoying. But rocky beaches abound where I'm from so it was kinda like home to me.

And the nightlife seemed pretty good when I was there, maybe it's just a different vibe in the summer. *shrug*

Rocky beaches don't bother me either, I'm used to them. At least after a day at the beach you don't have sand in wierd places...

Thanks for the advice Arthur - I have both Monaco and Cannes on my "to do" list while I'll be in the area.

Nice is a very cool place to go. Just about everyone uses it as a base camp. Go to Essez, Cannes, Monnaco, Villefrance, and many other places. The beach here is nice(i love pun) but everyone alawys goes to ther places for the day. Few people acutually spend all their days in Nice.

I'm sorry I can't remember - I got some cheap wine, went down the beach and got quite inebriated before hitting the pubs/clubs! I remember they are in the old town, but ask at the hostel reception or other travellers on where to go.

I enjoyed Nice, the cars were amazing! And its close to Monaco. I would just mind the water, althought I saw all kinds of people swimming in it, I saw more than one thing floating in the water that made me wanna puke!
