Hi All
Which of the following places would you want to spend some time in during the winter? and how long in each place - i only have 1 1/2 weeks.
Spain?
Switzerland?
or exploring the French Countryside?
i haven't heard anything about switzerland on these message boards? i heard the skiiing is fantastic in the winter there and very busy.
What do you think?
Thanks

Since you have only a week and a half, I would stick to one area. Switerland, especially the Alps, would be a nice wintery get away, as would the area on the board of Spain/Portugal - which my give you the best options to see a variety of things in one area in a short time.

Being a snowboarding nut, I'd go with Switzerland - although I hear it's uncomfortably packed around the Christmas/New Year period, if that's the time frame you're looking at.
Otherwise, I'd head to Spain.. the weather will be decent and, damn, it's just beautiful.
As much as I love France, I don't know if I want to be rained on that much.

I guess it depends what you want to get out of your vacation...
Switzerland would be my #1 choice (I love to ski), but be advised, that it can get pretty expensive there. Number 2 choice would be the south of Spain - this way you can have some warm weather and come back home with a wicked tan while everyone else is jealous of you

I think Switzerland would be better. Be warned that the south of Spain isn't necessarily the warm oasis it seems to be... it's not uncommon to have 50 degree (fahrenheit) and cloudy or rainy days all throughout winter. I was there in April and we were still wearing jackets. *shrug*
