I want to tour Spain and Portugal in November for a month. I want to do this by motocycle and do not know where to get an international motorcycle license or where to rent a bike , do you?
I know you can longer buy them and sell them unless you live in the country , which sux!
help me if you have hints or answers! Thanx!

I was able to rent a scooter in Spain with my US drivers liscence without any problem. If you are on a tourist visa I think you have 30 days to drive on a valid liscence (if you are over 18) in Spain.

Scooters are not motorcycles. If you have a motorcycle lisence from your homeland than it probably won't be a problem. Otherwise, I would think the easiest way would be just to get one from your homeland because it is probably same deal as with a car lisence which is as kcl said valid in a certain time frame.

some info about Belize would be greatly appreciated also. it is a place I have always wanted to travel to !!!Lucky you , living there !!

where you rented the motorcycle, how much it was, if you enjoyed it and reccomend it , good experience? bad experience? etc It would be a great help in furthering my plans. thanx
and if you live part time in Belize .. just tell me abput it as I have always wanted to travel there , dive , hike etc.
but , mostly I want to know about spain for now!

I rented the motor scooter in Badajoz, Spain (in 1999). I believe is was about $20 a day. Unfortunetly thats about all I remember. Don't know the name of the place.

Belize...I lived there for 4 months (got back Feb). It is amazing country - hiking is great as most of the country is rain forest. There are a number of National Parks - all which are great! My favorite beach town on the mainland is Hopkins. Mingle with the locals, they are very friendly.

I've never noticed moterbikes for rent anywhere in Europe, but the European biker is a completely different kettle of fish to the American biker, it looked that way from what I saw when I was in the states. I sat agasp as they stayed in traffic and stuck to the speed limit!! Altough that was Vegas and they seemed to be more about style than substance, the bikes where smaller engined moddifed to look nice but they couldn't go. The European bikes don't work right unless your doing at least a ton.

I'm not a biker by the way I just have a friend who is. What kind of bike are you looking for? There are alot of biker rallys around Europe that are very big afares and there are going to be alot of people touring especially Spain. So if you could plug into that before you come over I'd say you'd be sorted.
