Ok, so I'm planning a pretty big trip for the summer after this one. I've got plenty of time to stash away the bucks, and I want to go all out for this. The plan is to start in Spain, up through southern France (especially Provence), then Italy (maybe visit Corsica and Sardinia), from Italy to Greece to Turkey, down to Egypt and Morocco (though those last two might or might not be possible, depending on whatever's going on at the time). I've got lots of time to plan this, but can anybody suggest what sort of preparation I need to start making now? I plan to do this guerrilla style as much as possible, just so ya know

You have already made the first preperations, you have made up your mind on where to go!! Don't be surprised if that changes, it can and quickly

After that, hmmm, i would reserch the places your going, languages, customs, must sees, things to avoid, transportation ( trains, buses, planes) that kinda stuff.

The next thing I would do is start collecting gear...If you start to buy stuff right before your trip, things can get VERY expencive, but if you start getting things well in advance of you adventure then it doesn't hit the pocket book as hard.

Just a couple "starting off" tips :D B)

Sounds like a nice trip!

Check to see if there are any visa requirements that you might need.

Since you're going guerilla style, just be prepared for anything You've got a general sense of where you want to go and maybe there will be specific points of interests by way of festivals, events, concerts, etc... that you can't afford to miss.
Find those out as in where you need to be and at what time you need to be there, then a general timeline and fill in the blanks as you're traveling.

Like CD said, transportation to and fro should be figured out before hand unless you really want to wing it
