Hi,
We are coming over to Europe for the first time & would like some advice on what you would NOT miss seeing again and any other hints/tips. Our rough itinery is below and as we are hiring a car between Paris and Naples we're v. flexible. Unfortunately, this will probably be the last chance we will have for about another 10yrs to do any travelling due to children incoming so any tips, feedback would be great & particularly what to see because we have no idea what there is to see @ these places or around them.
The itinery may seem quite full but that's ok. We really aren't that interested in seeing all the 'big tourist attractions' unless they are a must see. (ie. no disneyland or eiffel tower dinner 4 us). We want to experience life more at a local level and go to markets & drive thru the countryside & get more of an overview but still have some great experiences and unforgettable moments. etc. Any advice on cheap accomodation also welcomed!
Paris 4 nights
Lyon 1 night
Tourlouse - Perpignan
Perpignan - 2 nights - might duck over the Spanish border to have a look @ spain.
Marseille or Nice - 1 night
Visit Monarco
Milan - 1 night
Bern or Zurich - 2 nights
Munich - 2 nights
Salzburg or Vienna - 2 nights or 1 night @ ea?
Venice - 3 nights
Rome - 4 nights
Naples - 2 nights
Ferry to Athens
Athens - 3 nights
Santorini - 4 nights
And there's an extra 4 nights in there somewhere that we'll use for the unexpected things that always arise!
Thanks in advance for any feedback.
