My Plans
  • Well let’s see I will be leaving on August 22 from Indianapolis, IN and flying in to
  • Rome, Italy -- 3-4 days
  • Naples, Italy -- 1-2 days
  • Venice, Italy -- 1-2 days
  • Milan, Italy -- Overnight train stop
  • Interlaken, Switzerland -- 2-3 days
  • Nice, France -- 1-2 days
  • Barcelona, Spain -- 2-4 days
  • Madrid, Spain -- 2-4 days
  • Paris, France -- 3-5 days
  • A-Dam, Netherlands -- 2-4 days
  • Berlin, Germany -- 2-3 days
  • Munich, Germany -- 3-7 days (Oktoberfest)
  • Paris, France -- Overnight train stop
  • London, England -- 4-7 days
And then I will fly out of London on the 4th of October.
The lengths of time are very, very tentative and could change on a whim.

Does anyone have any comments or suggestions? Or will anyone else be in any of these areas around this time? Maybe we can meet up.

We're looking at doing the Swiss Alps around the same time as you it seems...

So far it's a toss up between Interlaken and Gimmelwald. A few of the hiking trails are on the "to do" list, but from what I can gather so far there are a LOT of activities worth looking into - sky diving, climbing, white water rafting, bungy jumping, paragliding, etc.

Are you looking to book specific accomodations or are you just gonna go there and see what happens?

Okay here's the low down

Outoftheloop > I live in Greenwood where do you live? is any of your trip gonna clash with mine? if so we'll meet for a beer.

Go Krazy > If you are going to be in Interlaken the same time we will HAVE (yes it is required) to meet up for a drink. I was going to go skydiving in Interlaken but I found out that it is about double the price of anywhere else so now I am going to a place in spain to skydive but I am thinking about white water rafting and definatly some hiking.

Jake > thanks I like the button points dots... as well just use the list feature to make them

I think it's a great idea - especially if we're gonna be there around the same time then why not! No such thing as too many friends when traveling. Plus white water rafting is a riot (so far I've only done it on the Madawaska River, it was a lot of fun) and hiking is a MUST for me.

I'll let you know closer to the date of when I will be there.

Where is the Madawaska River?

Madawaska River runs between Alginquin Park and Ottawa north of Toronto. Seeing as I'm addicted to camping I've done my white water rafting just south of Algonquin in the Refnrew County. It's not the biggest rapids and white water you've seen, but it's a ton of fun!

it looks like if we stayed for the minimum days in each city i might be in Nice on the 30th, but I doubt that that will happen unless we skip a city. But I won't know that untill I get their... I'll let you know if I know anything before than or you can PM me your e-mail addy and I can send you an update while in Europe.
