I am going to Amsterdam for 11 days in March (10th-21st). I plan on staying at the Flying Pig Hostel for 4 days or so and see the sights of amsterdam, then go elsewhere. My two thoughts are Paris or Germany... But Im not really sure. I am hoping to get some ideas from you guys. Below are some sugestions some other friends have given me:

Shroom in vondel Park

Van Gogh Museum/ The marijuana museum, the sex museum, Monet, Manet museum
Heineken factory.

Canal Cruise

Mikes Bike Tour

flower auction

BOOMchicago. It's a bunch of american improv comedians that set up in a-dam in the 90s. I've

Get some smoked gouda (Cheese)

Train to Munich. Stop at:
Wolfsburg VW Factory
Koln - for cheap clothing and beer at Pafgen
Stuttgart for the porsche museum
Dachau
Olympic park
St. Peters square

What other sugestiosn do you guys have? I am traveling with my best friend, we are both 20 year old college students. So we want to hit up some good clubs and bars and just see the sights!!

The town of Delfft in Holland is a classic Dutch town, with canals windmills and a tower on the square you can climb for a great view.

If you're into WW II history, the "Bridge Too Far" has a nice museum and cemetary. It is not too far from A-dam by train. As a matter of fact, it seems like EVERYWHERE is not too far by train.

Check out my travelogue on Holland for more ideas, or to see what I did in my quickie trip over there...

Well...not EVERYwhere...

I think the biggest tip I can give about traveling, is -- when you start planning a trip -- don't give in to any little nagging concerns that might make you "postpone" the trip.

Many of my solo trips originally started out as planning on going with someone else. Well, something would come up with the other person, and they ended up being unable to go, but I would continue to go anyway. At least a dozen of the countries I've been to I could easily have missed by "waiting" for the other person.

If you want to go somewhere, start planning, and go! Don't let the petty things that ALWAYS come up allow you to change your mind....

Good luck in Holland!
