Hey guys,

I am visiting Paris for two weeks this Sunday, May 30th, my study abroad program got cancelled, so now I need to find somewhere else that is cheap to stay, Anyone have any ideas??

I tried some of the cheap hostels but all of them are booked out? Also, are there any french/other people visiting Paris in the next two weeks, my french is not very good and I would love to meet up with others who will be in Paris at the same time too. Thanks a lot.

Hi Diana, I am probably flying into Paris hopefully within the next two weeks, but I might just miss you if not....

Anyway, I have the name of a girl who I was going to stay with when I was supposed to go last week, and I will probably stay with her when I go in 2 weeks....ok, to the point: I got her name from globalfreeloaders.com, which is a world wide host network. She actually though asked for a small contribution of $10/night (US). While I obviously haven't met her, she is by herself for the summer and I felt ok deciding to stay with her. She was very helpful. I can send you her email address if you would like as I'm sure she'd love to have you.

Love,
Lauren

The only hostel I've personally stayed in in Paris is Hostel Aloha. But there are several more that you can find in the TravelPunk website. Also, if you're flying in, for instance, just go to the tourist information office, and they'll help you find a hostel. I'm sure you'll find one that has room, unless you're there on top peak tourist season. Don't go by the availability shown in the search engine website though, call or email them directly.

I'm a big fan of the BVJ Louvre. Drawbacks include no TV Room/Lounge, no open kitchen, and push-button showers. However, it's one of the few places without lockout/curfew that's very clean, and the location is amazing. Close to Chatelet/Les Halles train station and practically next to the Metro Line 1.

You have to call them (several times, it seems) to make a reservation, and they only take cash, but I've found if you're nice to the staffers, they're very accomodating. Definitely not a party hostel, but lots of cool people to meet up with at the decent breakfast hall.
