Edit: Grr...drop that "s" on Marseille - couldn't edit the title. :) Got Frenchie-names on the brain and it snuck in on me...hehe.
Trying to get some my tentative itinerary finished and I love the idea of the rail trip from Rome to Paris following the mediterranean. I'm currently planning on stopping and staying overnight in either Marseille or Nice on the way...the trip the next day to Paris is pretty short either way - plenty of time to get into town and get checked in and still have a Friday night there. My question is...is there much difference between staying in Marseille or Nice if I'm planning on rolling in around Noon on a Thursday, staying overnight, and rolling out the next day around Noon headed for Paris? I'm interested in the view, general atmosphere, nightlife, and walking around to see the scenery. I'll look for a hostel in either town. Just curious about which would be the best for a quick 24-hour stopover visit. |
I'd go for Nice. I loved it there.
