Notice the OP states Western Europe. In Eastern Europe it'd be either Albania or Moldova.

I wouldn't necessarily class the Czech Republic as western Europe which does raise further questions.

I'm talking about the second post, which doesn't specify western europe. I agree with the first post.

Czech is definitely a border country, but with all these countries joining the EU... Whats the difference between East and West anymore, it'll still cost out the a** due to the exchange rate.

I too thought that classifying Czech as a Western Europe country was strange.
Anyway, thanks for sharing ekantnl ! I'm sure this will help travelers make their choice of destinations.

Anything west of Germany is usually considered west but Spain and Italy could be seen as south. Germany is really considered west too even though it's central and anything east of Germany, South of Finland is eastern Europe. Russia is often seen as eastern Europe but I don't see them as being European at all even though their included in allot of European competitions. That's maybe why Poland and it's surrounding countries are sometimes called middle Europe but the media here, in the UK and on French/euronews their always described as Eastern Europe.
Cheapest country I was in was Slovakia, but I was in a small town in the east so it was more than likely allot cheaper than the capitol. There was 3 of us in a pub, I was drinking double whiskeys and cans of red bull, the other two where drinking pints and the odd shot, we got a pizza and hamburger and chips. We where playing pool for about 3 hours along with darts and table soccer (they all had to be rented at the counter) and the bill at the end of the night came to €16!! I'd say we had at least 5 drinks in there. You'd be paying somewhere around €100 or more for that in my small town in Ireland.
The likes of Czech republic is ready to switch over to the Euro so prices may already be on the increase and expect prices to go up by around 10% when they do switch over.
From what I've been told by the Polish living here, Poland is the most expensive country in the east. It's still cheap by western standards but by no means the cheapest.
