Getting Dressed in Hostel
I am very new with the whole concept of hostels, so where do people get changed into their PJ's? Or how do you get dressed from coming out a shower?
Also, i need to bring a hairdryer as my hair is quite thick and would otherwise takes ages to dry, are there always facilities to plug in your dryer? Or does it annoy others whilst vacuuming my hair?
Do you only pay hostels in cash only?
thanks

as far as changing, you can change clothes in the bathroom if you wish...i always just changed right in the room so long as i had undies on...i mean they cover as much as a swimsuit, right?
i would leave the hairdryer...my hairs thick too but i only dried it like 4-5 times in the 2 months i stayed in hostels...u learn to just let it go
some accept cards, some dont..it just depends

Generally people get changed either under the bed covers, in the shower room or by wrapping a towel around themselves in the dorm, it just depends on the situation.
As for a hair dryer, it won't annoy others unless they are sleeping, but you have to bare in mind it will be heavy to carry and you may need mains (and possibly voltage) coverters depending on where you're from and going.
Every hostel I've stayed in has been cash only payment.

Since I am a guy, I cannot comment on this..
BUT, when my girlfriend was backpacking last year, she brought her own hairdryer, and it blew the fuse in the entire hostel (and building)!
So be careful what you bring, and where you plug it in, or people may get pissed...

I took my hairdryer and straighteners and didn't regret it once. I never had any problems plugging it in, only problem was sometimes the plug wasn't near a mirror or anything.
If you're not changing out of your underwear in the bathrooms, do it under the bed covers, simple as!

The voltage is double what it is in Canada, so if you are plugging in a hair dryer that draws 5 Amps, it draws 10 in Europe...Just fyi.

it is easy
the first time you just take a deep breathe
say "everyone has seen one before"
unless of course for some odd reason it is something everyone hasnt seen before
than drop your knickers
