Has anyone actually gambled in Monte Carlo? HoDo they even have low stakes there or is it high roller exclusive? I'd love to sit down at a poker table there and play for a little bit.

There is two casinos there, the one for the rich and the famous, and then the one next door for people like you and me. (well, i spose we could get into the rich one) But, the cars that pull up out the front, damn, that definately where the big boys play.
Someone told me once that you need something like a million dollars to get residency there. But im sure the tax benefits pay for themselves

I also have been to Monte Carlo, and they charge from what I recall it was like $20 to get in the casino where you have the table games.
To get in there is no problem just have your passport ready because they do card, and I had them stamped my passport and it looks cool. I call it a little souvenier from Monte Carlo.
As far as the gambling tables go, I believe it was $10 per table, to play at the roulette.
I was plaing in the roulette table, and there was this husband and wife that were dress very flashy, they were betting some big cash on the the table, and I heard them speak spanish and I asked him a simple question in spanish on what are good bets to bet on, and he told me to just follow his bet, and we will win. So I did as he said. and surely enough he made me win. I won about $550 dollars that night in about an hour and a half.
So my tip to anyone is talke to strangers there, and who knows you might meet someone very interesting.

somehow, and to this day i dunno how I ended up there, I was on the \"celeb\" side of the rope...there I was in my kaki pants and golf shirt (half drunk) walking into the Monte Carlo with all these paparazzi snapping my picture..

Ha! Thats classic, CD.
Thats kind of funny they charge to enter the casino, usually the point of a casino is to attract people not limit their entrance. On the other hand, I guess it is designed to keep out riff raff and maintain a certain level of class. They will have to make an exception in my case though.

Definitely Monte Carlo.........ahhhhh, I miss the little place. Did you guys know that Monaco only covers one sq mile of land, has over 50 banks, and a 9.5 billion dollar annual turnover in the private sector alone. Oh, and no property tax. I visited IUM (University of Monaco) looking into the MBA program and..... wow, an idea just occured.
Any enterprenual (sp) people out there? Lets start an adventure club in the south of France, set shop in Monaco for tax purposes and be travelers forever!!!
