I’m flying into Frankfurt Germany in three days and had a couple questions before I leave. First I have a valid passport, but can't find my birth certificate should I be freaking? Second I procrastinated on buy a Eurail Pass I should be able to buy one in Frankfurt, right? I know it will be 10% more expensive, but that's why I get for waiting.

Your birth certificate is not completely necessary, but a copy/scan of it may come in handy. When does your passport expire?

I didn't have a birth certificate or even a copy. so you should be fun

as for the Eurail... well... errr..... you better call them up and have them Next Day Air one out to you cause you can't buy one in Europe.

I just went to the site and Priority Shipping (1-2 business days) is 15 bucks but seeing as it's saturday if you order today it may not get there until Wednesday (too late) You better call

Good luck

okay I just read this "When you are not in a position to buy a Eurail Pass prior to your departure to Europe, you could buy your pass at a Eurail Aid Office in Europe. Do realize, however, that the price in Europe is higher than at the regular sales outlets outside Europe. Therefore, we advice you to buy your Eurail Pass before departure. " but I would call and verify that and find out where you need to go to get one in frankfurt.

Good luck

You generally do not need a birth certificate to travel. however making copies of your passport is important. Keep a copy in your wallet or pouch and another copy in your backpack. You could even upload a scan copy of your passport onto the some of the Free online file storage space, so that you can retrieve it in any part of the world. A copy of your passport will come in handy if you lose your passport.
