Hi again!

Four of us will also be staying in cinque terre for 2-3 nights. My guidebook tells me Monterosso is the place to be. Do any of you have any good hostel/hotel recommendations? It would be great not to be in one of those super-large-sleeps-20-people-to-a-room places.

Thoughts?

I was there yesterday and it was amazing. I stay at a place that had little rooms all over the first city, riomaggiorie. The phone number in Italy is 0187 920 904. Address is Via Columbo 94 in Rio Maggiore. I know you can book online too. It is in Rick Steve's 2006 book. The name slips my mind.

Nice old lady, english is decent. I saw three of her places and they were all decent. 25 euro a night per person for a double or a triple.

While you are there, make sure to go to...Monterossa, i think it is. The 2nd city, and jump off the rocks. Amazing experience.

Hey i was in Riomaggiorie about a week ago and the place we stayed was called Cinque Terre Holidays, about 25 euro. Its an apartment where the rooms hold about 5 people each but each person had there own bed, no bunkbeds, and the kitchen and balcony were really nice. The view from the place was amazing, our room overlooked the entire town and onto the ocean. However, that view comes with a price...172 steps to be exact. holla holla holla.

In a few weeks, we'll be arriving in Monterosso around 7:30am and plan on hiking to Riomaggiore. From there, take a train to La Spezia and end up in Pisa. We're trying to cram a lot into one vacation/trip. Is this "too much" or reasonable for one day?
Thanks.

Also, (addition to above posting), we'll be hiking from Monterosso to Riomaggiore with all our gear (backpacks). There was mention of some rough spots - my concern is for my wife, that it would be too much for her????
Thanks.

I know this is a really old post, but the name of the hostel LilChappy was talking about it "Affittacamere Patrizia "
