we are flying into london and we want to book our hotel/hostel, there is a total of 4 of us and we are traveling to 4-5 countries, starting from london.

i just want to book our 1st place to stay as a safeguard cause i am sure we will all be tired from the plane ride. we are staying in london for 2-3 nights.

do you reccommend any hotels/hostels that are not overly priced.

thanks.

I stayed at The Generator - clean, breakfast inc, cheap, good location, had a disco and stuff, I enjoyed it, but it wasn't as "intimate" or "personal" as other hostels

I also stayed at Dover Castle Hostel and Bar (I think it was called that) - breakfast, decent rooms, gross bathrooms, smaller than the Generator and not as good of a location, although St. Paul's Cathedral was a 15 minute walk or so.

I'm staying at the Picadilly Backpackers hostel in Soho right now, it looked really impressive online; however, be wary that most of the rooms don't look like the ones in the photos. I'm not sure if this is commonplace but I wouldn't doubt it, but I'm still be pretty content because the location can't be beat. Its in Zone 1 and walking distance to a boat-load of stuff.
