SE Europe Trek (+Turkey), thoughts?
Well, this is my first post. I've been to France and Europe (London->Paris->Brussels->Munich->Prague) before, and I'm planning a trip this summer for SE Europe. The earlier trip took two weeks on top of two weeks in Kenya, and by the time I got to Prague I was too exhausted to barcrawl. Going to try to avoid that this time, so I'm hoping that someone who's been in the region before might have some constructive criticism on my tentative itinerary. Also, is it necessary to reserve Hostels in SE Europe quickly or is it possible to just show up? (BTW, I'm a college student)
Anyways, itinerary:
I get in like 3rd/4th week of May to Hungary, spend a week in Budapest for work. Thats followed by a family trip in Greece till the 22nd of June
On the 22nd of June, I'll be on my own on Mykonos, Greece. I'm taking a bus tour from Istanbul on the 1st, so i plan on taking a week to travel up the Turkish coast. Maybe 1-2 days in each of the following: MErmis/Fethiya, Izmir, Canakle, Bursa, getting into Istanbul on the 27th of June (3 days in Istanbul, woot).
The tour:
July 1 - (from Istanbul) Gallipoli Turkey
2 - Thessaloniki Greece
3 - Athens
4 - Corfu
5 - Corfu
6 - Dures Albania
7 - Budva Montenegro
8 - Split Croatia
End Tour
9 - Split
10 - Split
11 - Dubruvnik
12 - Dubruvnik
13 -
a week getting to/in/from some city on the Italian east coast (meeting friends)
19 -
20 - Zagreb Croatia
21 - Zagreb
22 - Kotor
23 - Pecs Hungary
24 - Pecs
25 - Belgrade Serbia
26 - Belgrade
27 - Belgrade
28 - Somewhere in western Romania
29 - Brasov
30 - Brasov
31 - Bucharest
August 1 - Bucharest
2 - ? (Varna Bulgaria)
3 - ?
4 - ?
5 - ?
6 - Vienna, Austria
7 - Vienna
8 - Vienna
Basically, the '?'s are dependant on how I get from whereever to Vienna, thinking trying to get a cheap flight.
This look feasible to ya'll more experienced travelers? I'm trying to not put a lot of distance between daily cities to account for travel times being longer than expected.
Gracias, and prost!
