From Europe to Egypt
I was wondering on a cheap way of getting into Egypt from SE Europe, Greece or Turkey? Is the a cheap flight or boat from either place? Or should one travel through Syria, Jordan, and Israel?

Well, if you want to find a cheap way just into the country, check out some of the discount airlines prices to Sharm El-Sheikh. That is the beach resort place in the Sinai that you'll find loads of deals on from Europe. Of course, then you'll have to find a way from Sharm to Cairo or wherever else you want to go...but it could be fun!
There is a website called oag.com that is intended for travel agents and airline employees. You can sign up for a one week trial membership for free, though. Anyway, it lists ALL flights to and from pretty much every city in the world. Check it out, list your airports, and note which airlines fly the route. Then, go to that airline's website and sign up for their "e-mail savers" option, if they have one. That's where they e-mail you their specials every few days, or weekly or whatever. If they don't have that, bookmark the site and visit it once a week or so.
That's my advice, at least...

Umm...er, well, you see, it at least used to be a subscription website, intended for travel agents, airlines, etc. I didn't think it was practical for ordinary joes like us. But then again, there are probably 8 million free e-mail addresses you can sign up for, so I should have thought of that.
I'm assuming it was helpful? I have to check it soon to find out how to get to Mali and back in February...
Yipes, though, losing my overnight Charlotte privileges? That's like my last, lucky dollar, stuffed out of sight, the Susan B. Anthony coin that you don't spend unless you need to. Losing them would be like losing your cell phone on a dark, desert highway, cool wind in my hair, with the warm smell of colitas, rising up ahead...!

Easyjet flies to Cairo quite cheap. But make sure you buy it well in advance.
