Hey,
I am planning on travelling thru the Ukraine and Russia at the end of may and throughout June this summer, I was wondering if anyone else had plans of doing this or have done it and could give me some advice on the trip?

Anyways if anyone else is gonna be around then let me know maybe we could meet up or something.

Dave

I'll be in Ukraine but not until the end of July. Currently planning on visiting Odessa, Crimea and Kiev, but haven't done a huge amount of research yet. Any idea which parts of Ukraine and Russia you're going to?

I did some traveling in that part of the world many moons ago (back in the USSR day) - there's a travel story about it in the Travel Stories forum, but it's kind of hard to read because the format didn't stay the same when I posted it. If you want me to email the word version to you, PM me and I'll do so. Warning, it's long. I can't help you much with technicalities like travel now, because things have (one hopes) changed a lot since I was there, but it'll give you a sense of what it was like then, and you can compare to how it is now!

Have a great time, it's a beautiful and fascinating part of the world!

Just come back from Moscow. Fantastic place, my bro lives out there and could probably give you any advice you might need about hostels etc.....All i will say is this. Stuff aint that cheap in moscow, except for ciggies and beer, but dont expect food or accomodation to be that cheap.......
