I never encountered any problems while there, but didn't book anything through hostelworld. In both the locations I stayed in I just turned up and found accomodation when I arrived. You have to remember though that Bosnia is predominatly a Muslim country, so maybe those Hostels are taking into consideration the wishes of Muslim guests?

Interesting. Sounds like it is a moral issue - don't want single women and single men mixing...
Now why can't I find someplace in Italy that only accepts families?????????

We're doing Sarajevo on our trip to EE in October and have been having the same trouble. The religious aspect might explain it. The all female ones seem to be cheaper too. No fair!

They probably dont want all that hassles that come with housing single males. Cant say I blame them.
