I've been looking online and cannot seem to find any hostels in Mostar, Bosnia-Herzegovina. Does anyone know if there are any, or where we could stay for a couple of nights?

To my knowledge, no hostels in Mostar (and I searched the net before writing this), but hotels or pensions somewhat expensive. Try the Lonely Planet guide or Internet site for more infos.

Dunno about hostels, but there's supposed to be a big statue of Bruce Lee there - if you see it, snap a pic for us, please!

Omer Lakise - Private rooms: Stay with the Professor while in Mostar.

The Hostel people in Dubrovnik phoned Omer when they found out we were headed to Mostar for the night. Omer met us(and some others) at the Bus Station and took us to his place - it saved us the trouble of having to search around while carrying our backpacks! It was a great insight to a Muslim household and a great pleasure to stay in Omer`s home...he speaks many languages(english not his best) - a great guy! Price is reasonable too..... Oh, he was also a professor in his day...

Location:
Very Central in the muslim part of town.Very near the Bus station(about 2 streets really). One thing to note is that you won`t be getting a key to come and go as you like - Omer will open the door for you if your coming back in the evening. This is`nt a party pension anyway! Its perfect if you want a quite sleep and are`nt intending on staying out all night... By the way - upon arrival, Omer presents pretty excellant lemonade to all! And you`ll get a good breakfast in the morning if you want to....

Price: 10euro per person
Address: Ul. M. Balorde 21 a, 88000 Mostar, BiH.
Phone: 036/ 551.627
Directions: His house is down a laneway on Ulica M. Balorde, which is the street down from Ulica M. Tita(the same street the Bus Station is situated). Ask any local around this street - alot of them seem to know the Professor..

Best to go local and help the people out - homestays are the way to go in Bosnia i think - great experience too(as well as friendlier on the pcoket).

Well I'm back now, I ended up staying in a private apartment for €10/night owned by someone I met at the bus station.

There is no statue of Bruce Lee there, the only things in the Spanish Square are a statue commemorating the Spanish dead from the war, and a giant chess board made of marble (which was great fun at 3 in the morning when I was really drunk).
