Central Backpack King is awesome. I am staying there right now and I love tis place. It is in a great location and has excellent ratings from hostelworld.com. DO IT

From what I've heard, pretty much all hostels in Budapest are good and have great ambiance.

As for myself, I stayed at the Back Pack Guesthouse (on the Buda side). A bit far from downtown, but the place is great ! Super staff, organized activities, charming backyard, rooms with names like «Bob Marley» or «Love Shack» (for the private room), free goulash on Sundays. Feels like family in there.

i don't know- ever heard of the yellow submarine? everything breaks, and the hostel owner shouts at everyone to get out- just wierd! i only stayed there an extra night cos i was trying to pull a cute french girl.

i went to a free circus in budapest once- they had polar bears on skates to techno music- i didn't know whether to laugh or walk out! but budapest ghoulash is the money!!

2004 i think. it was really wrong but funny in a surreal 'i cant believe i'm watching this' sort of way! it was in the big park near to the northeast train station, so while i was waiting for my train and was free i thought what the hell??
the animals blatently didnt want to do it (probably cos of the crap europop music!).
Budapest is wierd but cool!
