Prague Accomidation

I'm going to Prague at the end of December. Anyone got suggestions on where to stay and what to do? Any advice is appreciated, thanks!

I would start by looking at the hostels listed on this site. Look up at the top of the screen. There are plenty of hostels, it boils down to what you want and location. Once you have a few ideas, post them here, and the Tpunks who have stayed there will give you the heads up

I stayed at Sir Toby's and it was wonderful!! It's not in the city center, but I walked everywhere or took the tram. The people at this hostel are wonderful and ready to help. The breakfast was great (not included, but it was 90cz), and it's in a sort of working class neigbourhood, giving you yet another perspective of Prague. I highly recomend it, I stayed in a 5 people room for like 15€, it was a large room too... with beds, not bunks, so we werent all crammed up in the room. And my train to Prague was late due to an electrity cut down, I missed my first reserved night and they didn charge me for it (even though i hadn't canceled), and they didnt have any change, so they charged me my last night of a 5 bed room as if I had stayed at a 10 bed room. Needless to say I love the guy in the frot desk!!!

Oh, and no matter what you may see in the street exchange shops, ALWAYS exchage your momney at the bank. I promise no matter how good it looks, they always screw you up, unless it's a bank. Word.

yeah i agree with everything florencia said, I stayed at Sir Tobys last summer, it really is a great hostel, the staff make you feel really welcome and are so helpful. it is a bit far from the centre but its not really any hassle getting to it

I stayed at the Czech Inn. It's super nice and modern, feels more like a hotel than a hostel, if that's what you like- but the downside is less social interaction.

I forget the name of the place, but there's an underground club that looks like it was assembled from a junkyard or something. It's hard to explain, but it's an amazing place- mechanical parts and lights spinning everywhere, lots of secret rooms with multiple DJs... ask hostel people if they've heard of it.

Yeah, the owners of Sir Toby's also own Czech Inn and Miss Sophie's. they're all really nice and really different from one anoother becasue they tried to give each hostel it's own vibe.

I think all three of them are great! Just go with your own vibe ;)

I loved Sir Toby's...It was a very relaxed place, but still fun and social.

Also if you have the time check out doing a trip to Cesky Krumlov as well.

oh oh oh maybe cross club or something like that?? that place was awesome!
i stayed at plus prague nearby it was kinda cool in that it was cheap with a pool and a sauna but kinda too large, does a lot of the busabout type groups which wasnt really a positive.
yeh and id put a vote in for cesky krumlov too, even just for the cheap and yumm meals lol, if u do go hostel 99 was pretty damn sweet.

Ditto on Sir Toby's. I stayed there in June and had a great time. They had a free barbeque while I was there as well, which was nice.
