I have what will probably seem like a stupid question. I've traveled in Europe before, but not since they started using Euros. How do they work? I was recently at a German website and browsing through a few CD's they had for sale, however the prices were in Euros. When a coma is used in Euros such as 14,45 does that mean 14.45 Euros or 1445 Euros? I tried converting the amount online but $2000 seems a little steep for a two CD's.

And also, do you know if individual countries in Europe will accept anything other than Euros? I still have Lire left from when I visited Italy over six years ago. I'll be disappointed if all my left over foreign money is only worth keeping for a souvenier.

Thanks for the help!

Europe uses comma's where we use decimals. so 14,45 = 14.45. I hear a lot of the smaller towns still use some of the original currency. So you may be in luck.
