Sydney - July 2008
Hi everyone!
I'll be studying in Sydney from July-Dec 2008, and looking to see if anyone is going out there at the same time for school/work/etc, and potentially looking for roommates to share a flat with, or just people to explore the city/country with! I'm, hoping to live close to Bondi, or near the city centre.
If you'll be there at the same time and want to meet up, shoot me an email!
I'm a 25 yr old female, taking my MA in Communications. I love to explore new countries/cities, love to enjoy nights out, and just have fun!
Cheers
Meg

Welcome to the boards, Meg!
We definitely have a cool crew of TPunks downunder, so hopefully a meetup will transpire when you get there !

I'm just outside Sydney in Wollongong (well.... about 2 hour train ride) but we also don't have a spare room sorry. But yeah if there's a meetup in the works I'm down

For anyone who's recently rented in Sydney, can you recommend the easiest way to find apartments? I've been browsing online classifieds (there is quite a large selection, I'm finding!), but others have suggested going through a real estate agent.
Any thoughts?
Yes!! A meetup in Sydney sometime late July would be awesome!!!
Now how does one go about organizing such a thing? Is there a specific "meetup" thread on here?

yeah, there is a meetup forum, we'll get something organised once you're here! I'm actually in europe for most of july, I get back on the 26th. I started renting my place this year, and I did all of my househunting through www.realestate.com.au - but my boyfriend and I were looking for an apartment, if you want a room in a house that is already being rented, I would recommend your university's housing service. I don't know what uni you are at, but at UTS the housing service hooks up people who need rooms with people who have rooms - so it might be worth finding out who to email there.
