Hey everyone! I'm Aaron. I'm a cute 23-year-old caucasian surfer boy from california. I'm living in Chicago right now and I'm going to Western Europe this summer. I'm looking for someone (or two, or three, well you get the idea) to partner up with. Dates are flexible, but I was thinking it would be nice to leave around May 12 or 13. I'd probably be flying into England and heading out from there. No set plans, just pure spontaneous travel and fun.
A lil about me: I'm pretty outgoing and I love to have fun and laugh a lot. I'm about as honest and sincere as they come. I love seeing the world, meeting new people, and learning about people and hearing their stories. I'm handsome (no need to be embarassed in public with me at least ), I'm funny, intelligent, spontaneous, adventurous, friendly, and, I can speak Russian! Maybe it'll come in handy?
Well, if you're headed to Western Europe this summer, or want to, hit me up. I'd be glad to talk to you and see what we can work out. Have a wonderful time and GET BUSY LIVIN' !!!
Msg me on AIM or Yahoo as "tiuboy777" i can give you further contact info from there. -Aaron

Would you happen to know if I would need a visa to get into Russia? And possibly how I would go about getting one?
As for the fair isle upon which you abide, where would be a good starting point for me?
I don't have a whole lot of money to take with me. I'm bringing emergency money, but the other money I bring I want to try to save for as long as I can and maybe work some small jobs that will pay me cash "under the table." Any ideas on ways I can make money while I am there and cheap places that I can stay? Is it ever possible to meet locals that might invite me to stay with them? Thanks for the help.

Hi Laura,
Its fine. I don't usually talk about myself that way. I guess just being on here its easier to do that. I used to be really shy and self-conscious. I'm trying not to be now. I guess that is part of why I talk myself up like that - it helps me in the process to feel better about myself as well.
That's all kind of why I'm wanting to leave and travel this summer. I just need to get away and I have never left the states before. My g/f and I just broke up last Monday. It was hard. I guess I'm just trying to convince myself that I'm a good person and worth someone's time. Its just hard sometimes I guess.
Anyway, ya ... didn't mean to sound cocky or stuck up. I really am pretty humble. I was just trying to cheer myself up I guess. Well, have a wonderful day.

Aw, I hope you din feel like you had to defend yourself. I was just playin....its part of my odd sense of humour. I'm fairly perceptive, so a bunch of little things tend to stick out to me as odd/funny. Din mean to offend. It does suck to break up with someone you care about. It's hard. But from what I've seen so far, you sound like a really cool guy, and she must be missin out. While travelling is probably not a fix (only time can really heal), it sure as hell is a great way to make a TON of new friends, see a zillion sights, have the best time of your life, and start to really find out who you are & who you want to be. Good luck with your travels!!!
(I was serious when I said welcome to the boards, btw-I'm sure you'll be a kickin' contribution!)

Hi Aaron!!
My name is Lisa, 22/f from Michigan (capitol area) and I am *ALSO* looking to plan a backpacking trip this summer around the same exact time, as I am graduating from college (whoohoo!) in late April! I think we could DEFINITELY be travel buddies, as long as we don't let ourselves get too consumed in how amazingly, really really good-looking we are (haha, Zoolander much?)
I'll instant message you and give you some more contact info. I've actually been looking at flights out of Chicago since they've been looking a lot cheaper than the flights out of Detroit and Chicago isn't a whole lot farther for me than DTW. Do you already have a plane ticket? Get a good deal? Let me know. We'll be in contact.
*Lisa*

haha, good call omi.
tough luck with the break up wandering, they aren't too much fun. Go shag around Europe for a bit, that'll make you see you're worth atleast 2 minutes of someones time, unless you're a marathon man, then u might be worth 5 minutes of somebody's time.
