Hello!

I'm planning to do my first proper travelling experience in September of this year. I'm proper fed up in my home town (if any of you live in the UK, I'll guess you understand how rubbish it is living in Swindon!) so If any of you guys are around in Western Europe September time, and would fancy meeting up for a beer please let me know

This trip is to get me used to the whole travelling thing, as I plan to go to South America early next Summer... woohooo! I'm 20 and live in the UK btw.

Thankies!
xx

No way?!! Haha, it's really backward - small town mentality and stuff. However, if you any of you guys are coming to the UK, and planning on visiting Stonehenge or Avebury LET ME KNOW! They are real close to where I live - especially Avebury, I drink there all the time in the best pub in the world The Red Lion.... and I'd like to think I know quite a lot about the place. I know a LOT about the beer...

So yeah, let me know, I can put you on a bus and point you in the right direction.

posie, will you be around in late June/early July? I should be in England around that time and I'm definately planning to see stohenenge, so having someone show me around and keep me from getting lost would be great.

oh, and I'd definately want to know where the good local bars/pubs are at XD

Security at Stonehenge is pretty tight, BUT if you time it so you're here at Summer Soltice, they open it up to everyone, and all the party people can hang out all night up by the stones. Nightime at Stonehenge is pretty cool though, they've got these burial mounds a little down a track which are awesome - if you lie down on top of them it kinda feels like you're being pulled into the ground. Plus theres hardly any light polution, so all the stars are out... if you know where to look you can see galaxies and stuff!

Avebury is my favourite though, it's not really quite as impressive, but the vibe is a lot cooler, you're free to walk around and stuff. Summer Solstice is wicked there too - loads of interesting people making things and pagan ceremonies and stuffs.

So if any of you are around at the Solstice, it is definitely the best time to go.
Soviet Surfer - I'm around in the UK then, drop me a mail and let me know what your plans are... same goes to anyone else

Hope thats some help!

Cool, thanks. I'll email you as soon as I figure out more details about my trip.

does the Summer Solstice event last a few days? or would I have to be there exactly on june 20th (I think that's when it is this year).

There's normally a crowd around on the day on the solsitce and the day after... gets a bit confusing coz you don't know whether its the lingth of the day that is celebrated or the shortness of the night!! (huh?!)

But yeah... erm, can't remember where I was going with that... haha!

Come over anyway guys, and be confused in the South West with me!

Hey Posie,
I'm going the same direction as you from Aug-Sept.. I'm going alone, as of now, and would love to hangout sometime, if our paths cross!? I'm a party animal, though I can't get arrested while there!! haha! I'm a laid back guy, who's taking this vacation before going off to college! I get along with everyone, so I'm not worried. I have connections in Ultrech, Holland and in Copenhagen, Denmark. But, I plan on seeing everything and it's better seeing things with someone else, you know!? Well, send me an e-mail if you think you wanna, it's......

Hola All,

As the world turns.. I was originally going to Europe with my roommate in November.. However, It looks as if he is not 100% on going due to a new job. Now I like the idea of going solo.. I was pondering going in September also. It would be something like Sept 9 – 30th.

It looks as if I will be flying into A’Dam, and using a rail pass to get around. I’m trying to not make an itinerary on the trip so I have more freedom to travel.

Anyone gonna be in A’Dam? I’m thinking about hanging in A’Dam for a few days off the bat to meet up with some people to travel with for a destination or 2..

I’m 24, male from Florida (Orlando), laid back and easy going. I’m mainly going back over to Europe be around all the different cultures and history and to party in them.

So if anyone will be there during that time let me know.. be kinda fun to meet up with cool people..

Lee

I'm an assclown..

It now looks as if 2 of my buddys now wants to go with me... So it don't look like I'm gonna get to do it solo style.. and now we are back to going in November (I will be going end of oct till mid-end november)

Anyhoo, let me know if any of you are gonna be out there during that time... I will be flying into A'Dam and chillin for a few days there first, and at the end of the trip..
