Lol, yes, I've seen a pretty good chunk of Canada, since I dated a Canuck boy for a while and he was a travelbug too.
I don't think I'm going to run out of places to go to, though!

I've been planning to go there for years, but have never made it down under...so many people to visit, cousins to see, uncles and aunts and twin nieces that I have never met! Hopefully I'll get there someday though.

Mm...I've been having jitters about this trip. My friend in Honduras probably can't host me anymore (story of the life!), so I'm trying to figure out if I can still afford to head to the islands and live the scuba lifestyle for a while when I won't be having free accommodation, and survive getting around Central America. I've been reading too many mugging stories!
I just need the little push to drop money on my plane tix and I know I'll roll from there, but right now I'm nervous!!
I'd love to hear more personal experiences, but it seems like not too many punks have been traipsing around that part of the world!

just go! I'm on impulse mode right now haha...took soooo much will power not to jump on a one way plane ticket to JNB because it was only 889$ CAD after taxes....haha have to wait until I'd actually be able to pay the credit card company back. If my job which I'm supposed to start in may falls through (which it likely will) and I start later I'd be screwed...

Just do it. That's the biggest piece of advice I can give you. Sambrosa (Kindra) did it and is still working her way around!! Buy your ticket and stop reading the horror stories! Read WWMike's stories about the area...it's not so bad! At least not worse than places around the US!
As for being a place less traveled by Tpunks, just think, you can be the person to provide advice for the next. Also, isn't more fun to explore an area that you don't know or haven't heard that much about.
As for accomdation, check out couchsurfing.com. If you prefer you can opt to stay with people that have had past vistors so that way you don't get nervous.
