In May I'm going to the Coast of Guatemala with some coworkers to do work for Habitat for Humanity. Anyone done a similar trip? With Habitat or just to Guatemala? Any advice or stories to share? I'm a little nervous, but mostly excited as hell!

I spent two months in Guate this summer doing volunteer work with GVI, while I never made it to the west coast (which is the one I assume you are referring to) I did get a chance to travel around to a lot of different places. Guate is amazing and I miss it everyday. The people are very warm and welcoming and the scenery is breathtaking. Feel free to ask if you have any questions and I will see what I can do.

I lived and worked in Belize with an ord that built houses amongst other things. Habitat does great work and I've had many good experiences with that org. Do you have any specific questions?
