Well last weekend as some of you know I took my wife to Ottawa for our anniversary. Well I have to say that I can't believe that its only a 3 hour drive from where I live and this is the first time I have been since I was in grade 3.

Any one planning a trip to Ontario, please do make the time to visit Ottawa, Its worth it.

There are Museums around almost every corner, and just being in the presence of Goverment makes ya feel kinda cool...ya gotta wonder if some shady deal was struck on the bench inthe park where you are enjoying your lunch.

My wife and I hit the Royal Canadian Mint , the Tulip Festival , The Canadian War Museum, the Parliament Of Canada ( which has beenthe place of high drama this week) And enjoy ed many historical and political statues around the city.

I have to tell ya, 2 days was not enogh to get to see everything, this might be a sign that I am getting old...I had to go back to the hotel for a bloody nap!

Anyway, the trip, which was the complete oppostie of budget, was worth every penny...the smile on my wifes face when we rolled up at the Château Laurier...You can't pay for stuff like that!

Here are some more resonable places to stay in and around Ottawa

Ottawa was a 9 out of 10

Yeah, I heard they newly renovated the War Museum. I didn't get a chance to go there the last time I was there, but I went to the Museum of Natural HIstory in Gatineau, and they had this whole indoor village that looked like it was ourdoors through clever lighting.... it was the best muesum i've ever been to. Tax dollars well spent.
