There's a Krispy Kreme in the GVRD? I've been away too long! I'm a north shore expat - live in Lithuania now. Vilnius is a lot like Vancouver in spirit - laid back but with lots to see and do. Beautiful city, very green, although nothing can beat the combination of sea and mountains...I do miss that! HOW 'BOUT THOSE CANUCKS!

Do you think they show NHL hockey games in fiji??

I'm probably not going to see any games here, basketball is the national obsession, then football (the soccer kind, thank goodness) and cycling. Hockey doesn't often rate, although there's one Lithuanian player in the NHL, so we sometimes see clips, if he scores a goal. Doesn't feed my Canucks fix, though. We're off to Spain tomorrow - maybe they have cable where we're staying, I might be able to catch a game. Otherwise, nieko (nada, zip, zilch). And while thanks to the BBC I can quote you the up-to-the-minute status of the latest India/Pakistan cricket test (like I care?), in England they think "hockey" is a game you play on grass! Thank goodness for the internet.

I know, catching college football updates on TV is impossible overseas. Those cricket scores in Pakistan, though, you can find about them!

Oh my goodness, just got back from Spain (alas, no cable so no hockey), and learned today of the great scandal brewing over Pakistan's defeat to India in the third and final test (a year ago I'd never even heard of a final test)... seems someone wasn't giving 150% to the national team...

To think I missed that horrible scandal! After listening to an hour long BBC "World Sport" programme, I decided that the BBC are only slightly less parochial than CNN. World Sport consisted of cricket, football (European), the London marathon, motor racing and boxing. I know these are sports enjoyed by millions around the world, but in a year of listening to the Beeb, I haven't heard a single reference to hockey (the real kind) and I guess it must have some kind of following, being an Olympic sport and all... Surely more people follow (ice) hockey than field hockey, and I hear updates on that every week!

Fedfe, I'm sure there'll be an expat bar in London that will show the games.

Fedfe, I was born in Victoria, if that means anything. View Royal, 5 years. I'm now a K-towner. Sorta.

Indeed how 'bout those Canucks. How could they loose a 4-0 lead? How? How? Ah well they pulled through.

The triple O.T game was a little much, I don't understand how they could hold calgay back for 2 periods of o.t but couldn't do it for 1 period of regular play.

Tonight is going to be a tense game!!!

Even if they did make it to the finals I wouldn't be here either, so I guess its bitter sweet it ended like it did
