The only noteable one ive been to is Aukstaitija National Park in Lithuania.
It was incredible, just hundreds of lakes, spent a couple of days cycling around them. And im sure its really beautiful when it isnt raining (it rained for 2 days solid while i was there)
And so cheap as well, staying in a 2 bed cabin for under €5 a night. and that was in the "main" village Paluse in the park (the one with a tourist information office). im sure you can find cheaper if you look.
Im sure tamara can tell you more, shes the one that told me to go there

Riding mountain National park in mantiba is AMAZINGLY beautiful. And for hiking buffs like you and SD it might be worth a look to you!

I love the lesser known trails in Rocky Mountain National Park...
The same goes for Arches and Canyonlands in Utah.

Hmm..I haven't been to that many NPs yet, but that will have to change! Here are a few that I'm sure I've been to though. :P
-Bako National Park, (Sarawak, Borneo): This is where I saw proboscis monkeys for the first time and also discovered that I SUCK at reading trail maps.
-Kinabalu National Park (Sabah, Borneo): Had a great time climbing Mt.Kinabalu (4095m) although right now I'm waiting for my black toenail to fall off.
-Acadia National Park (Maine): Beautiful, especially in the fall.

Hit up some National Parks on my last trip:
Manu Natioanl National Park, Peru: Its part of the Amazon Basin, which speaks for itself.
Huayna Potosi National Park, Bolivia: This one IS the mountain, all 6088m; I climbed it.
Sajama National Park, Bolivia: Sajama is a volcano, and the park surrounds it with a desert like terrain made of volcanic ash. Lots of geysers and hot springs. The forest thats at the highest elevation in the world (the trees are little). Tons of wild life.
Lauca National Park, Chille: 3 massive volcanoes, one active and smoking. 2 massive lakes, that are amongst the highest in the world. This place is hauntingly beautiful.
Anyone else?
