I have a quick backpack question. I have searched the forums, but most of the information is for people that are only going traveling for a week or so. I am going to Germany for a year on an exchange program and will be staying with a host family.

Since I'm going to be with a host family, I figure most of the traveling I do away from the house will be only a couple of days, week at the most. I'm trying to look for a day bag or a big bag with a detachable day bag for my trip that is small enough to be carried on a flight. I'm mainly looking for one that has a good conpartment for a camara and fragile items, side pockets for maps ect..., and perhaps a little pocket for an Ipod.

I have searched a lot of sites and looked at a lot of backpacks, but there's so many choices out there I just get lost. If you guys have any suggestions, I'm all ears.

Oh, and if you have any links on how/where I can get a German camera charger for my digital camera (It's a Casio Exlim that came with a cradle) or any place where I could get a converter, I'd also appriciate it.

Thank you in advance

The converter you should be able to pick up at any electronics store.

As for the pack...I would look a Marmot (brand) with packs in the Eiger series...that will give you a good starting point if nothing else.
