I am undecided I already bougth a 3.7 l sleeping bag so it dosent take up much room, but I hear you cant use them in some hostels.
sleep sack to save money but worth caring around?
I will be staying mostly at hostels but some nights at freinds family houses.
I also hear sleeping bag would come in handy on the decks of farries.

The only hostel we've stayed in where we had to rent linens was in Sweden, and it cost a fortune! Would have been cheaper to buy our own. But lots of hostels don't require them. On another trip, I used mine a lot on trains and overnighting at stations for an extra layer of warmth. It's amazing the difference a thin piece of cotton makes. For your purposes, I'd suggest looking at the rates at the hostels you want to stay at, or at half a dozen in the cities you're visiting. If most or all of them provide free linens, it's probably not worth taking. If not, throw it in. They're not very big or heavy, especially if you splurge on the silk ones.

The sleep sack is kinda interesting to me. Some hosels require that you have one, while others prohibit them on the grounds that they spread bed bugs between hostels. Personally, the time I did bring one to Europe with me, I think I used it once. Ended up being my dirty clothes bag because I forgot to get one of those little mesh ones.

IF you dont plan to sleep outside then it wont be the most important thing in your pack. I brought a small bed sheet that i rolled up really really tight. I used it fairly often but anything of that nature isnt that big of a deal. If you broght one; you will use it, but if you dont bring it; then you will be just fine as well.
