Hi Guys,

Its my first time posting here.. but been reading the boards for awhile. I'm heading out to Europe for 3 glorious months this summer and NEED a bag. Priority 1) Needs to be comfy as hell. What do you guys think about women backpacks:? Do they really make a difference? I'm about 5'3 1/2 and I think I can handle at 65L. Hope it won't be overkill though. Please let me know what you guys think about these packs below.

Vanessa - these packs look ok. You can usually get packs cheaper buying them over the internet.

Have a look at these Dana Design packs. The Far flung looks like a good travel pack to me. I have a Glacier personally. And you can usually find these on sale somewhere if you search the web.

Good choich on the MEC pack,there awesome and will last a lifetime no matter which one you buy.I'd have to say that the 65L is going to be overkill for you,by the sounds of your height you'll only fit the normal and not the tall size.As far as bein comfortable I'd also look into some packs from the Northface that are made for ladies along with anything from Gregory Packs. Yeah I was thinking of going with the MEC bag.. doesn't $115 seem kinda cheap for a bag though? Not that I'm complaining or anything... as much money that I can save for this trip the better... but I just don't want to sacrifice comfort and a durable bag for a cheaper price. But MEC is such a reputable company around here.

Really you think the 58L be best for me? I'm afraid I won't be able to get all my belongings into that size..

Little tip on packing, pack from the outside in. Don't get all yer travel stuff together and then find a pack to fit them. Get a pack you like and think you can live with, then add or subrtract your things to fit in the pack. Pack light!! Always, you won't ever regret it. If you need something, you cna buy it there, if not, there's no point carrying it around.

ok.... im from vancouver too and i bought my backpack from the backpackers shop on WBroadway... the guy there is so great! he will give you a demonstration and help on deciding which backpack is right for you... dont go to Mountain equipment co-op they dont have a very good selection and europe bound was across the street with a good selection but the guy at the backpackers shop will also fit it to you specifically... go there!

the backpack i bought was an Asolo pack, 70L, zip off daypack... great bag...

also i forgot to mention i was told that for a backpacking trip over a month you should have at least 60L

no screw that I am all about going light right now. Buy a 3500 cu in pack and call it a day!

Get the extra room,just in case.It's always nice to pack light but you might be longing for some extra room somwhere along your travels.I say go with the bag from MEC.I've got tons of stuff from them and it's all top notch.You won't find anything with a better bang for your buck factor unless you get one of last year's packs on a good discount.

Since basically everybody knows about money belts nowadays, I thought this would be a great alternative. The only thing that I'm a little worried about is the fact that it is attatched w/ velcro...I'm wondering if it'll make a sound or pop open at odd times....What do u guys think? Has anyone on the site used one of these b4?

thats cool, but you would need to wear pants with the wallet every time.

As for the pack im taking a 34 liter pack. for 3-4 weeks. I like to pack light.

the price ranges were around $120-$200 i think but mention the europe bound store and how the pricces there were similar and he'll probably knock a little off good luck!

Oh and mine was just about $200

Dana Design "Far Flungs" are the shit and you can get them for around $90 now if you look around.
