Eagle Creeks rule and that is the pack that I wish I'd bought for my 3 monther last summer. I got the next biggest one and didn't need all the room. Get it.

Looks like a decent pack. Have you checked out Dana Design packs? They cost a little more, but in my opinion, they are well worth it. You can also usually find them on sale if you search. The Arc Series packs, as well as the Far Flung and Swift Traveler are amazing...

Yeah I have been searching for a while. I really like the Dana Designs, just a little too much out of my range. I need a big pack for my future travels- going to take the pack instead of my big duffle to Europe for school. Plus I really like the fact that it has a day pack.

Its big enough to hold everything plus souvenirs but small enough to force you to pack light.

I also own this, the eagle creek day pack: Amazon.com for the daypack

I love this one! its a packable day pack! its only $30 and is perfect for the digi cam, has a place for watter bottle (or beer if you are me) and it collapses into this tiny ball if you don't need to use it that day. Its basically a minature backpack that doesn't look like those American purses. It's bigger than those. I could not find it on eagle creeks site.

Hey. I just bought a Jansport travel pack.


Its a little big, but I'm going to be going to school and traveling out of it for 12 weeks this summer. It has a day pack, but its real dinky. I just wondered if anyone else has used this bag and could tell me what they thought.

I think its too big for carry one, but am hoping that someone will tell me that they got one on their plane.

BTW, I found out today that Coldplay is touring Europe this summer--in case anyone else is interested.

I have an Eagle Creek and love it. You can't go wrong (except maybe a bit pricey for some folks). They are well designed travel packs and are quite durable. They have all the handy little features that make a big difference on a trip.

I got a Dana Design Far Flung from Northern Mt. Supply for $99. It's carry on legal, has a detachable day pack and an integrated duffel bag so you can safely check it and not worry about having your pack damaged by the handlers.

A lot bit late, but in my opinion Eagle Creek make the finest travel packs in the world. They are made specifically for traveling, not hiking or outdoors stuff, pure travel pack'n so they have all the tricks down. they are the only pack I would use. -kyle

uhh.. yeah the Transcontinental is too big for carry on. if you lose the day pack and you scrunch up the bottom compartment you might be able to get by with it but then... what's the point?....
