Hi there - I'm new to these boards and i must say there's some excellent advice floating around. However, after reading all the relevant posts I'm still not sure as to which backpack is for me.

I'll be going to Germany next year for around 14 days - does anyone have advice on the proper capacity backpack for this duration of travel? I'll only be moving around 3 times during the trip.

I've got my eye on the MG 45 by the north face:

Volume: [M] 2750 in3 (45 liters) [L] 3000 in3 (50 liters)

any help would be greatly appreciated!

That sounds fine. I'm leaving for well over a year with a 65L, but I pack way lighter than anyone else I know. Go for it.

Dude, I'd go with a Dana Designpack...they have awesome accessability. I have a Glacier and I love it! I've tried a lot of different packs, and these (to me) just ride better and more comfortable, with great accessability!

As far as the size you are looking for, check out the Bomb pack

ahoy krazylegs,

yes i must agree that these are such pretty and functional backpacks - although being an australian it's going to be hard to get my hands on one without spending a load on postage & handling.

*checks price of pack

heh, and at US$256 it's a little out of my price range.

still a top recommendation again :D
