So do any of you guys use lumbar packs when travelling? I'm thinking of getting one to use as kind of a daypack. I don't really like the idea of rolling around town with a daypack on as it is out of sight and might be easily opened, etc. I was looking at some lumbar packs online that come with a strap so I could sling it over my neck and it would be on my side/front and I could easily hold onto it. I really only need it to hold camera, iPod, etc. So it does not have to be very big. Something like one of these.

I have noticed a few times recently that ppl are starting to wear daypacks on their front even when theyre just normal backpacks (ie barbie brand) and these ppl certainly dont look like backpackers so i'm thinking of just wearing the pack on the front, as it seems to be the new fashion trend this year.
 |
Dude....that thing gets a big fat 10 out of 10 on the ugly scale....looks like a fanny pack on steroids
slap a lock on your day pack and your laughing. The only time I'd wear it on the front is when you enter a busy area. |
Yeah, that thing screams 'tourist with too much money' to the pickpockets and lowlifes of the world. They are liekly to shank you on principal alone for wearing one of those.
