me and a few friends plan to spend the two months following out highschool graduation backpacking across canada. sort of an extended goodbye before we all inevidably go our seperate ways.
i have NO idea what to expect for this to cost
has anyone here done this before?
non of us have our liscences so we're trying to figure out the cheapest mode of transportation. we were thinking we would do this thing called airhitching to chalottetown and backpack back.
what did you find was most affordable?
any advice?

My experience has been mainly roadtrippin' the great white north so that doesn't really apply to you, but the one thing we did that saved money was to just camp out. Although it was easier finding a place when we had a car, we'd just hunt around for a secluded spot after dark and pitch tents. That and a lot of cheese on baguettes for breakfast, lunch and dinner, at least in Quebec. :)

Yeah, kind of expect mad cash if you plan on actually crossing Canada... 6.5 Time zones, lots of open space with nothing but beautiful scenery to admire... Perhaps you can get a cross country train VIA Rail or something.. or yeah, camp out a lot if you can... just pitch a tent at the side of the road (in a safe place of course) and sleep. save tons of cash that way.
