OK so since I'm soooo smart (haha :lookaround: riiiight) I have this bowling ball of a head a top my shoulders and I bought one of those flex-fit hats for my quickly approaching trek across Europe, the hitch is that the hat is "tight" and leaves lines on my forehead and gives me slight head aches. Anyone know what I can do for this? (Besides getting a new hat all together?) I'm thinking maybe cutting the elastic on the inside and sewing a bit more in....anyone got a creative solution here?

Hmmm, interesting problem. You definitely want to resolve it before you go, though - no extra stressers needed on the trip. I guess cutting the elastic and adding a piece would work, provided there's enough additional fabric in the hat itself to accommodate the added size.

Or you could try stretching in by putting it over a round object a little larger than your head (maybe a bowling ball? :lol1: ) for a week or so, to see if that relaxes the elastic enough to make it comfortable on your head. If the problem crops up on the road, tie a bandanna around your head first and then place the hat resting on the fabric, rather than your skin - that might distribute the pressure a little more, and at the very least would prevent the little hat lines digging into your skull.

If all else fails, buy a new hat.

Cutting the elastic really isn't a good idea dude, for the fact that it's made so you can keep partial shape of the hat, and to absorb the sweat, Tumbz second option is way more proper, something you can do is put the hat on and spin it around your head from side to side every once in awhile it will finish up molding to your head shape/size.
