Ok, so i'm shopping for a pack for my trip next year... I know, it seems early to start shopping but A: I'm excited. and B: I'm excited. Anyway, it turns out that it is a good thing I started shopping early as it seems it may take quite a while to find the right pack. Apperently I have the longest torso known to man.. Thats right... Get your ticket now and step in line.. Ugh. So I measured my torso (or rather had someone measure it for me) and it's at 25 inches... There in lies the problem. All the packs I've seen are only good for torsos of up to about 22 inches average... unless I want to buy a 8943830292 CI pack... which is certainly not the case... Has anyone else had this problem? Any ideas?

Um, stupid question, but how do you measure your torso? As in, where do you measure from-to?

*laughs* I asked the same thing... but then I found that most websites that sell backpacks have a diagram... you measure from the top of your spin (that little hump just below your neck in the back) to the top of your hip bones....

Hey, most packs have adjustable torso sizes. I have an Osprey Cresent 70 and the hip belt can slide down to any size. It comes in M and L so it is a small adjustment to keep the pack balanced. Gregory packs are also really easy to adjust and have a large range of lengths. Small packs are not adjustable, but CamelBack tends to run a bit longer.

Good luck!
