australia new year eve

hi all,

i am sick of winter and heading to summerland australia over new years...primary objective: having fun and enjoying the beach...

being a backpacker virgin this will be something new and exciting for me...i am tired of the marriotts and hyatts, this is real life and i believe a great way to meet fun people.

so i need ur advise...first, where are the best parties...i plan to go to surfers paradise, byron bay and cairns...any suggestions...then...any tips on what i got to expect from hostels and what i need to know...ur comments are appreciated.

Hi, I am leaving from Phoenix at midnight tonight. Spending 24th-27th w/friends but will be back in Sydney on 28th. Leaving to come home on Jan. 2. No plans for New Years Eve and don't know where I am staying. Would like to take a tour to see the outback for a day or two but party on the 31st. Contact me.
