Hey, I'm going to OZ/NZ in January... starting in OZ, then flying to NZ. I was looking around the internet, trying to get an idea of how much flights were between the two and came across a really good sale from virginblue.com.au. I could get a one way ticket from brisbane to auckland taxes included for under $200. All the other fares I have looked at have been about twice as much. Only thing is, I was planning on working my way up the east coast of OZ, starting in Sydney, ending in Cairns. I can't get a flight out of Cairns on this sale, closest place is brisbane. Is the price worth backtracking all the way to brisbane? Help me please make up my mind, the sale ends tomorrow. thanks

I assume you mean $200 Australian in which case, if it were me, I would definitely book and backtrack to Brisbane, assuming you have the time to do that. Getting between Cairns and Brisbane is fairly cheap and while it would kill some time, that is insanely cheap between Oz and NZ.
