I知 finding it hard to get my head around the seasons in Australia and when would be a good time to be where.

I知 planning on getting to Melbourne in March and setting up for 3 months before I go and tackle the east coast. Planning on taking about 3 months to do this (July, Aug, Sep) and probably ending up working back in either Sydney/Melbourne for Xmas.

I知 guessing July, Aug, Sep is Spring.. Is this right? would this be a good time to do the east coast? If not when would be?

Your help would be greatly appreciated

Good time to do this trip. When you go further up around Rockhampton the seasons change to dry and wet so July, Aug, Sep are all in the dry so it should be an awesome trip for you

Aah so I'm pretty much sorted as far as travelling up past Rockhampton is concerned, but as far as weather in Brisbane/Byron Bay in August would what should I expect? will it be hot enough to enjoy the sun?

hey guys.

sorry chocolaty, I'm not trying to steal the thread, but I have the exact same question, just for different parts of Oz.

My Q is when are the best times/months to visit:

Melbourne
Adelaide
Perth
Broome
Darwin
Cairns
Alice Springs and Uluru

thanks.

Teri it all depends on what you like to do.

Melbourne no brainer when the Formula 1 (around March i think next year) is on the city is just out of control huge party lots of celebs really cool.

Adelaide love the place pretty much anytime of the year is great, especially summer Dec,Jan,Feb however winter has it perks as well great for AFL whole place is mad for the footy.

Perth all year round great place to be i havent heared a bad word said about Perth.

Broome during the dry season May- Oct as it gets very humid in the wet.

Darwin same as Broome plus all the really cool stuff happens in both places during the dry.

Cairns same as Broome and Darwin.

Alice Springs and Uluru really cool place to go in the middle of the year but remember it is bloody cold at night during this time so if you are camping make sure to bring a summer and winter sleeping bag.

If you have anymore questions i am sure most people on this board can help out.
