VEGEMITE HAHAHHAHA! I forgot all about that stuff! I think its discusting, its an aquired taste thats for sure...I tasted some on toast once in New Zealand and it tasted like I took a plain peice of toast and just dumped salt on it , needless to say Im not a fan of Vegemite.

Hey don't knock vegemite its great!

But personally I prefer marmite.

Anybody tried yeast flakes on toast? It sounds strange, but it's really nice. I've tried telling this to a million people but everybody who's tried it has hated it. I must be one of those things you needed to grow up eating or you'll never like it.

Vegemite is the worst substance I have ever tasted....and i'm an Aussie..hehe. My parents used to feed it to me as a kid - child abuse anyone??

As for yeast flakes on toast, TC - your right about it sounding strange, i'm sure it tastes strange...but then again you like vegemite too. Thats cool though...we all have different tastes

For me its peanut butter on toast - nothing can beat that but it has to be the crunchy kind...MMmm peanut butter on toast...arrrrrrrrhhhh

I am a Devonport boy, lived here most of my life. It's a good country.

Did you see much of it when you were here?

honestly, I flew to Christchurch to meet up with some BP's for drinks, but just for a night. Mostly I stayed in Auckland because I worked in the harbour. Other than the breif visit to Christchurch I didnt see the south island.

I never really understood the appeal of vegemite, myself (does sorta sound like some epic Biblical battle, eh? "And then, before the sun set, the Marmites did slaughter the Vegemites, and the Lord was pleased with them.")

When it comes to spreads, Nutella is number one. ^_^

The Cananites and Hittites advanced towards the Marmites, and discovered that they were grossly outnumbered. And with the help of Satellites, the Vegemites, siezed the opportunity to surprise and conquer all. Muhahahahahaaa.....

hey all
Vegiemite eh, we had an aussie exchange student who ate it like hell. At first i tried it and wanted to puke but then I found out that you gotta spread that shat on thin, I mean THIN! like barley anything at all, then it gives toast a nice touch
Goes best with white bread and a dose of butter

yeah its all in the spread

ya gotta put a shitload of buttter/margarine on then when its a bit melted you lightly spread the vegemite and its good and it has to be on toast or some biscuits its shit in sangas,
i hate vegemite when other people make it for me therefore im the only person in the world that can make it good!!!
so only let qualified professionals like me make it fo you
