Default Volunteer in South Pacific

Hey all,

Has anyone volunteered in the South Pacific. I don't mind the country, I just want it to have no fees. And preferrably free accomodation. I am leaving Oz in January and only want to stay there for like 2 weeks or so.

Any ideas would be freaking amazing, my eyes are going blind looking at this screen.

Thanks!

you could apply to work at Pacific Islands Club in Guam or the one in Saipan. They both want 6 month commitments but you could just pretend and then bounce out after a couple weeks!

be a clubmate! It's a fun gig and the islands are beautiful...

I am absolutly no help with this, but I would love to do some volunteering there myself or work there sometime. I never really thought about traveling to the south pac till I read "Sex Lives of Cannibals." Sine then it has been put on the top of my list.

Just a thought. Have thought about maybe trying to work at a hostel, in exchange for a place. It wouldn't be really volunteering, but it would be free housing.

try www.idealist.org they may have something in that area.

there's also a book I bought from barnes and noble called "fulfilling your dream of volunteering overseas", which has about any type of volunteer work in any part of the world. I'll check it out when I get off work and see what's in there.

TB? Nice Jake. I have been looking at the idealist and there is actually some really cool ones on there with low fees.

I especially like the one where you teach buddhist monks english in nepal
