Default Things to do in Sydney

Can anyone tell me if there are lot of things to do here, apart from the standard viewing of the Opera House.

What else is there to do? I know that there are the blue mountains too, but if you are staying there (Sydney only) for a few months will there be enough to fill up your time or can you get bored there?

Sydney is a large city so has many of the same attractions as many other big cities but with the added extra of the opera house, decent beaches, loads of bars, clubs, live music, nightclubs etc. Don't worry there is plenty to keep you busy!

The blue mountains are a couple of hours on the train out of Sydney but it is beautiful and I would definitely recommend it!! The trains there are regular and cheap and there are a couple of decent hostels there as well as rooms above pubs etc.

Believe me you will soon get into the swing of things and you definitely won't be bored!!

you won't get bored in sydney. go to the blue mountains for a few days, places like jenolan caves can be cool, head up to the central coast for relaxing beach towns... and as for in sydney itself, once you've done all the tourist stuff you can spend endless days exploring all the suburbs... i'm not talking about all the outer suburbs as they can all be a bit the same after awhile but its fun to explore the smaller, old inner city suburbs like surry hills, glebe, newtown, china town if you didnt do that when you were tourist-ing.. then go check out where the rich people live on the north shore or the eastern suburbs and gawk at the huge houses... You can also take ferries to watsons bay or manly, both those places can keep you entertained for a day each. Go to the zoo cause its awesome, there are often festivals in darling harbour so don't write that off as a 'go once and you've seen it' kinda place, it keeps changing. if you're here for awhile you'll settle in and get to know what kind of places you like to go to... get the newspaper on sundays for the entertainment guide and find out whats going on in the city, there's always something. of course when you do get here feel free to PM me for more specific ideas and if uni work permits i'm happy to be a personal tour guide!
