Which Sydney Hostels to go to and to stay away from?
I am going to be staying in Sydney in May and was wondering what Hostels in the Kings Cross and CBD are good to stay at and which ones to stay away from?

I'd aim to get something in the CBD - I know there are a lot of hostels in the cross but it's such a dodgy area and you'll get over it pretty fast. I haven't stayed in any hostels here but my friend recently stayed at nomads in Pitt St and said it was good. Wake Up and the YHA near central also look really nice.
Location: Austin Texas, but originally from Ann Arbor!

I stayed in the YHA central (granted, 7 years ago now) and it was very nice. Clean and new, nice design...a bit big and impersonal, but all the hostels are like that in Aus/NZ. Fairly expensive though, I think a dorm bed was like $30 even back then.
