Is Thailand a good place to go for good year round nightlife? Aside from the Half and Full moon parties. Also, do they have hostels similar to those of Europe?? Anyone have any websites with decent prices to Phuket? Please help me out.

You didn't give us a lot to go on. If you post some more info pn your itinerary, I could be more specific. But I will give you some general pointers.
Bangkok: There is plenty to do at night. However, the bars/clubs close down between 1am and 2am. The government imposed a fairly early closing time about a year or so ago in the hope to add more "family" appeal. Backpackers tend to congregate around Khao San Road in Bangkok, plenty of cheap guesthouses, hostels, and hotels as well as plenty of bars and clubs. If your looking for a guesthouse to book on-line you could start with Khaosanrd.com
Phuket: There are plenty of cheap hotels, bungalows, etc around Phuket. If you want a crazy party atmosphere, stay in Patong Beach (not to be confused with "Patpong" in Bangkok). If you want a bit more relaxing area, try Kata or Karon beach areas. Just do a Google search for "Hotel Patong Beach Phuket" or the like and you will find plenty. From Phuket, you can also catch a boat to Ko Phi Phi. Patong Beach bars stay open a lot later than Bangkok....its not uncomon for them to stay open until 4 to 6am. The closing rules are a lot more lax. To get to Phuket from Bangkok, try either Air Asia or Nok Air. Both these airlines are good and very cheap. Otherwise, you can take about a 10 to 14 hour bus ride to Phuket from Bangkok. One last piece of advice...there are a LOT of very attractive Thai girls who you will meet in bars...if they seem too good to be true...they probably are........so just be warned. Have fun....just be safe.

Good advice livefreeordie but just remember mate if you are a male travelling by yourself you will be hasseled by Thai prostitutes everywhere.
But if you are going to Khao San go to Gullivers travellers bar as this place doesn't accept this. Same as Banana bar Patong beach these places you don't get hasseled at
