I am looking to backpack around the world later this year, I want to spend a month or two in Indonesia followed by Malaysia, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam before heading onto England (will have working holiday visa). so about 6-7 months total in SEA. however seems like every SEA country has this onward ticket policy in there visa requirements, even when entering from land. i was thinking of leaving Australia from Darwin to Kupang (Indonesia) with a return flight that i would just chuck away (before i realized that everyone country not just indo has that requirement)

Im just after any for advise on how to handle the visa for each SEA country that requires a onward ticked? If i got a around the world ticket that say stopped over in Singapore could i use that as my onward ticketed for both Indonesia and Thailand, when crossing land boarders or do i need to have a onward ticked leaving from each country i want to visit?

I was hoping it would all be a bit easier than this.

Any help would be great.

Cheers :D

it is easy dont worry!

i never had to do anything apart from show my passport going in and out of thailand and cambodia....havnt been to the rest, but im assuming they will be the same... its more one of those un inforced conditions.. just wing it u will be fine

but u do need to organise a visa for vietnam which is abit harder than the others, maybe for that u might show tickets? but that easy too coz u can get that in bangkok or your home country before u go
